In early 1979, her Arthur Murray instructor recommened to her about the Lawrence Welk Show, and how Bobby Burgess is looking for a new full-time dance partner.she made her Welk debut that Feburary on the "Salute To Love" episode where they danced to a rhumba, and later.following a few more guest appearances and positive fan response, got the job full time. Shortly after, Elaine joined the Arthur Murray Dancers.and her career kicked up just like the high leg kicks.Įlaine and her fellow dancers toured, and taught dance across the country.and also appeared on television as part of the Jerry Lewis' MDA Telethon on Labor Day.
Attending a Four Aces concert with her parents, Elaine noticed the dancers in the show performed so well and professional.and soon found out that the dancers were from the world famous Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Attending Sam Houston State University, she was a piano major but it wasn't until a trip home when she took up ballroom dance.
